Linda Siracusa, the owner of Lindaʼs Flowers & Plants, is a New York native with over 30 years of passion for floral arts. Lindaʼs interest in floral design began after she graduated from college with a degree in Art and Elementary Education, at which time she joined the Hillside Park Oaks Garden Club in New Hyde Park, New York. While working for an exporting company, Linda found time to learn and understand the Elements & Principles of Design by becoming a New York State Flower Show judge. Lindaʼs success as a flower shop owner was never part of her plan in life. She moved to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire in 1996 with her husband Louis "Louie" so they could raise their daughter Elizabeth in a small town community. She decided to open Lindaʼs Flowers & Gifts in 2002 as a way of earning enough income to send her daughter to a private high school, Brewster Academy. She knew becoming an entrepreneur was the only way to accomplish this goal.
The store began as Lindaʼs Flowers & Gifts and a J.C. Penney Catalogue Merchant store where customers could order and return J.C. Penney merchandise without having to travel 20 miles to the mall. This got people into her flower shop and got her name out there as a retail florist. Through the trial and error phase of the businessʼ beginning, Linda and Louie mastered their unbelievable skills as public servants with their involvement in the community. They are members of the Wolfeboro, Ossipee and Wakefield Chambers of Commerce and have quite a presence among other local businesses in these areas.
Linda and Louie currently employ one full-time and three part-time employees and they both work everyday in the store themselves. In 2008 Lindaʼs Flowers & Gifts closed the J.C. Penney store to make more room for the flowers shop and the addition of Jimʼs Formal Wear tuxedo rental service. The gift line was eliminated and the store became Lindaʼs Flowers & Plants exclusively. The store has two New Hampshire Master Floral Designers (nhmfd) on staff and one lucky Brittany Spaniel, Lily. Thriving with the goal to remain community oriented, Lindaʼs everyday goal is to be "Your Neighborhood Flower Shop."
